Dog Desperately Clinging To Wall Rescued From Hurricane Eta Floods
A dog desperately clinging to a wall and trying to stay afloat during Hurricane Eta was saved thanks to dedicated rescuers.
Tropical Storm Eta has swept through Central America and Mexico for the past week leaving hundreds dead and thousands of people displaced from their homes due to massive flooding and landslides that have damaged many towns.
Among the heavy hit areas was southeast Mexico, where the dog, standing on his hind legs with water up to his waist, was spotted by rescue teams with Secretaría de Marina Mexico (Mexico’s Navy).
The Marina members were searching in boats for trapped residents in the Tabasco region on November 13, 2020. The dog was clinging to a metal window box outside of a home.

As soon as the boat came alongside him, the shivering dog welcomed a few pets and a treat from one of the men there to save him.
The dog was so ready to be rescued that he puts his paws onto the boat and asks to be pulled in. Seconds later, the dog was hauled to safety!
A few days later, SEMAR Mexico shared the news that the dog is doing well after visiting the veterinarian. Not only that, he has been officially adopted by members of SEMAR Mexico.
SEMAR Mexico tweeted a follow-up video that shows the dog happily interacting with his new friends and sporting a navy blue Marina jacket. They have also put out a call to the public to help naming the pup.
