Stray Pup Covered In Thousands Of Ticks And Wire Embedded In Her Tail Shows Her True Strength

This dog, later named Blossom, was found by a volunteer from OrphanPet in Greece. She was a stray and had been wandering the streets for weeks and maybe even months. The poor pup was in heart breaking shape.

She had a chain wire embedded in her tail, which had been there for a while. Because the chain was so tightly wrapped around her tail, her tail became extremely swollen.

What’s worse is that she’s covered in thousands of ticks. The vet did a ʙʟᴏᴏᴅ test and discovered that her ʙʟᴏᴏᴅ was very thin from the tick bite. If they saved her too late, she probably wouldn’t have survived much longer. Knowing there was no time left, they quickly helped her as soon as possible.

After putting her on the table, they gave her a nutrients transfusion and they were forced to surgically remove her tail. They had to work hard and carefully to remove the ticks one by one. The sweet girl did not protest and just allowed them to help her. And to get rid of all the ticks on Blossom’s body, it took them about a week. After all the ticks were removed, she received a warm bath.

With the thorough and dedicated care of doctors as well as volunteers, Blossom has had completely amazing changes. She slowly recovered, her hair smooth again. She also gained weight and made new doggy friends along the way.

Blossom has a friendly, active personality and that led her to find a family to adopt her. Today, she’s living in her forever home and is enjoying her second chance at life.
