Stray Dog ᴅᴇsᴘᴇʀᴀᴛᴇ For Attention Tried To Follow People Home

There are many homeless dogs living on the streets of South Africa without suitable shelter. A group of kind-hearted individuals wanted to do something to help out as many of them as possible.

That’s when the “Dogbox Project” began. They made hundreds of kennels for local charities to distribute throughout Manenberg. Along with the kennels, they brought food and blankets. Dogs who would normally sleep in the rain, now had a warm place to stay.

As the Dropbox volunteers were out and about doing their thing, they met a friendly stray puppy. Most strays were pretty timid for obvious reasons but not this dog! He began to follow them and wouldn’t quit. The volunteers realized the puppy would follow anyone who was kind to him because he was ᴅᴇsᴘᴇʀᴀᴛᴇ for a home. How ʜᴇᴀʀᴛʙʀᴇᴀᴋɪɴɢ!

They named the sweet pup Scribble. Scribble walked with an obvious limp. When he was assessed by a veterinarian, she determined that Scribble was most likely ᴋɪᴄᴋᴇᴅ by a human. An x-ray revealed soft tissue ᴅᴀᴍᴀɢᴇ, which would heal up in no time with proper medical care. All because Scribble liked to follow people closely, trying to find a home. Had he “annoyed” someone who had a cold heart?

Scribble received his first bath and was given the love and attention he had been seeking. Hills Nutrition and the Expresso Morning Show wanted to meet Scribble and have him on their show on television. They had him on their show to promote adoption at Sidewalk Specials and to help find Scribble a home.

A family was watching the show and fell in love with Scribble. They knew in their hearts that this was the perfect pup for them. Now they are all together and Scribble will never ever have to deal with an unkind stranger or sleep in the cold rain again!
