Man Rᴇsᴄᴜᴇs Stray Cat On Busy Highway

A motorist spotted a cat sᴛʀᴀɴᴅᴇᴅ on a busy highway and couldn’t stop right away to ʀᴇsᴄᴜᴇ him, so he made a round trip back to the kitty who was too ᴀꜰʀᴀɪᴅ to move. Masz Masuri from Sɪɴɢᴀᴘᴏʀᴇ was driving on a highway when he ꜰᴏᴜɴᴅ a cat ᴄᴏᴡᴇʀɪɴɢ along the central divider, too sᴄᴀʀᴇᴅ to move.

“I was driving in JB with my Son towards Dᴀɴɢᴀ Bay (recreational park in Mᴀʟᴀʏsɪᴀ) when I spotted this kitty sᴛʀᴀɴᴅᴇᴅ along the center divider of the highway couldn’t stop immediately so I had to make a round trip again to ʀᴇsᴄᴜᴇ this ᴘᴏᴏʀ baby,” he said. Masuri slammed on the brakes. Traffic roared past and drivers beeped, but Masuri was undeterred — he leapt out of the car and hurried over to the cat, who was pressed against the concrete barrier, sʜᴀᴋɪɴɢ ᴡɪᴛʜ ꜰᴇᴀʀ.

“It was ᴛʀᴀᴜᴍᴀᴛɪᴢᴇᴅ and ᴄᴏᴠᴇʀᴇᴅ in ᴅɪʀᴛ,” Masuri, cofounder of Kitty Konnexion Community, an organization that helps stray cats in Sɪɴɢᴀᴘᴏʀᴇ and Mᴀʟᴀʏsɪᴀ, told. “[The cat’s] body was ᴛʀᴇᴍʙʟɪɴɢ and ᴄᴏᴠᴇʀᴇᴅ in its own waste, but it didn’t put up any struggle or even try to ʀᴜɴ ᴀᴡᴀʏ from me.” Masuri picked up the cat, whom he named Dᴀɴɢᴀ Boy, and put him into the back seat of the car. Dᴀɴɢᴀ Boy meowed loudly and hid under the seat, but he also seemed relieved to be off the highway, according to Masuri. Masuri has no idea how Dᴀɴɢᴀ Boy got on the highway in the first place, but he had a theory.

“It looked like Dᴀɴɢᴀ Boy was strapped to either a harness or leash and dragged across the road when it got loose and as it tumbled, it probably ꜰʀᴀᴄᴛᴜʀᴇᴅ the leg in the process,” Masuri said. Whatever had happened to Dᴀɴɢᴀ Boy had resulted in a ꜰʀᴀᴄᴛᴜʀᴇᴅ leg — it was so ʙᴀᴅ, Dᴀɴɢᴀ Boy ᴄᴏᴜʟᴅɴ’ᴛ move his leg at all.Masuri drove the cat straight to a  ᴠᴇᴛᴇʀɪɴᴀʀʏ ᴄʟɪɴɪᴄ, where Dᴀɴɢᴀ Boy has since been getting ᴛʀᴇᴀᴛᴍᴇɴᴛ. The one-year old kitty was ᴅɪᴀɢɴᴏsᴇᴅ with a ꜰʀᴀᴄᴛᴜʀᴇ in his right hind leg and a few ᴄᴜᴛs on his ᴘᴀᴡs and ᴄʜᴇsᴛ, but the sweet kitty is on ᴛʜᴇ ᴍᴇɴᴅ. They will get the kitty into a foster home when he’s well enough to be ᴅɪsᴄʜᴀʀɢᴇᴅ. Dᴀɴɢᴀ Bay sat in his ʀᴇsᴄᴜᴇʀ’s lap, purring up a storm at ᴛʜᴇ ᴠᴇᴛ. He was happy to be safe and loved. “Dᴀɴɢᴀ has already been ᴀᴅᴏᴘᴛᴇᴅ by a kind sᴏᴜʟ,” Masz told . A kind woman fell in love with the cuddly kitty and welcomed him into her loving home with open arms. Dᴀɴɢᴀ is doing very well and is living life to the fullest.
